Today is the first day of the Summer Learning Journey. LS2 worked with Room 5 to help them with their first Summer Learning journey activity. This activity was about scavenging for item in our class for materials that we'll need for the upcoming Summer Learning Journey. We really enjoyed this as we were able to find all the materials. I worked with Florence in LS2 to get this activity completed.
Kia Ora Matheus,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Shannon, and I’m from the Summer Learning Journey.
I’m so impressed that you recorded yourself and Florence explaining what you did in the scavenger hunt activity! It really makes your blog post stand out! You both did such a great job explaining what the task was and how you did it! Great work! I also like the picture collage you made. It’s bright, colourful, and includes all the tools you’ll need for Nanogirl experiments!
What sort of experiments do you think you’ll be using your equipment for? What other things around the classroom and home do you think you could use to build science experiments?
Good job on starting the Summer Learning Journey, I look forward to seeing all your future blog posts! What activities are you most excited for?
Ka kite anō,
Shannon (SLJ)
Hi Shannon!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment. Me and Florence were in a group. I think i'll be using the string and cardboard the most for this activity. I don't know what I can make with it but in the future I will think hard. I will build a experiment but I think some cups and some water and food colouring will make a science experiment. What is your favourite thing about commenting on students blog?

Kia Ora Matheus,
DeleteWhat sorts of things do you think you could make with the string and cardboard? My favourite simple science experiment is that if you put water in a bowl, sprinkle some pepper on top, then dip your finger in dishwashing liquid and plop it into the water bowl, all the pepper will rush to the edges! Have you ever tried that?
I have so many favourite things about commenting on student’s blogs. I love seeing all the creative posts the students make! They can be super pretty and imaginative, just like your post here! I also really enjoy comment threads like the one we have going on now. It’s cool to get to know the students and see what they’re learning in school.
Are you excited for the summer holidays? What activities would you like to do?
Ka kite anō,
Shannon (SLJ)
Hi Shannon!
DeleteI think you can make a slingshot. I have never tried it but I will try it in the summer holiday. I am excited for the holiday. I would like to do the same activity but different stuff. Have you seen my other SLJ Me and Florence did one again if you want to see it go on my blog. Are you excited for the summer too?
Kia Ora,
DeleteI love making slingshots! I’ve done it a couple of times! The best one I’ve made was constructed out of a stick shaped like a Y, a rubber band, and some glue! If you make one, be sure to post it so I can see!
I have! You and Florence have been doing such an amazing job! You’re powering through these activities and they’re all so good! What has been your favourite so far?
I’m super excited for summer! I think I’m going to go kayaking in Okarito for Christmas! What are you going to do?
Thank you for the response!
Ka kite anō,
Shannon (SLJ)
Greetings Matheus.
ReplyDeleteI like your Summer Learning Joureny blog post. What do you think it would be with those materials you have.
Hi Xavier
DeleteAre you doing the Summer Learning Journey? I think you can make a thing like a heavy thing on the bottom and paper on top and put the spoon make it fly.
